We are Republic of Ireland Solicitors and are regulated by the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland. We have 25 years’ experience in practising law in Ireland. 

We are Republic of Ireland Tax consultants and are members of the Irish Taxation Institute. We have 16 years’ experience as tax practitioners in Ireland.

What we do for UK Clients

We provide UK clients with  a one-stop shop in relation to establishment and trading in Ireland. We advise on the practical, tax and legal issues that arise. We advise clients on the regulatory and licensing issues specific to their sector and requirements.

Where appropriate, we implement the steps required to establish an Irish base. We advise on and/ or undertake any licensing and registration applications that are required. We assist with all employment, taxation, commercial, property, banking and other matters that may arise. 

We advise on Irish taxation issues that arise in the establishment of a subsidiary or other presence in Ireland. We advise on compliance obligations in respect of corporation tax, personal taxation and on the reliefs that may apply.

We work with clients’ UK or associated Irish tax advisers where applicable, with a view to optimising the overall taxation position for corporate groups. 

We advise on customs and VAT compliance and other issues in EU and non-EU trade. We advise on favourable reliefs and treatments that may be available in respect of VAT and customs.

We are members of the Brexit panel of a number of Irish enterprise agencies. We have advised businesses in most sectors on the implications of Brexit in the Republic of Ireland.

Our Principal

Paul McMahon is a practising solicitor with over 25 years’ experience in the practice of law in the Republic of Ireland.  He also practised England and Wales law in Ireland for many years.   He has practised as a Chartered Tax Adviser for 16 years.

Paul is a Qualified Financial Adviser and has also qualifications in banking, finance and compliance. He is also admitted as a solicitor in Northern Ireland and as an Attorney in New York State.

Paul has practised as a solicitor and legal adviser in a range of areas including corporate and commercial law, employment, trade, property development, trusts and estate planning, litigation, banking and taxation. He has advised and acted in transactions for clients across a wide range of business sectors.

Publications

Paul has written all the content of the Irish Legal Guide, which is a unique wide-ranging guide to Irish business law. In addition, the guide also contains the original legislation, sample case law and other legal materials relevant to each area of law concerned.

The parts of Irish Legal Guide dealing with the legal issues that arise for businesses in Ireland is now available.  Irish Legal Guide is a subscription website. A free no-credit card, once-off, one week trial is available to all users.  

Paul has also published
